CHARACTER
NAME: Iskandar (Rider)
CANON: Fate/Extella
CANON POINT: Post Extella ending Golden Poem
AGE: Several thousand years (Servant stuff) but died as a human when he was 32
BACKGROUND: Here

PERSONALITY: There is one word that can encompass Iskandar as a whole: Big. There really is nothing about him that is small and he lives his life to the extremes. It is something that he feels is his duty as a King. To give people an example of what they can wish to become. An ideal and someone to be admired. Others might find more subtle ways of doing things but that simply isn't his way so he lets himself partake in the most of everything. Booze, sex, money, and so on. The greed of the King should never be matched by any. For when it is then that is the day that his role is challenged.

With that said, he is truly someone people do look up to. For more than just his height. This is a man of great intelligence who can read others to get to know them and who is actually eager to do so. He wants to know about the world around him which means he adapts to change in the blink of an eye, embracing it and even allowing himself to participate in what he sees. During his time as King, he actually changed his name to reflect the new culture that he was ruling then. The tides are sure to change or the winds might shift direction but he is always ready to be there along with them. For he is but a small part of a grander world that he wants to be a part of rather than apart from.

This excitement for life is contagious and one can see why so many followed him in his dream. With a heart so big and open to possibilities as well as to the people under his care or at his sides how could one not want to join in? It's rare for there not to be a glitter in his eye or a smile on his face. Show him something as simple as a board game or some other thing he's never seen before and he will want to be in on it right away. Better still, he will want to share it with others. It's true there is much he can do alone but it cannot compare to being able to share it. It's why he says that his Noble Phantasm of Ionioi Hetairoi is a representation of himself as King. These men who have followed him beyond the rules of space and time are his greatest treasure just as all of his people were.

He is a man of no regrets. There are many things in his life that might sadden him but he refuses to regret any of them. As a King, Iskandar has made decisions and he stands by all of them. Perhaps there are moments of pain but he honors every person involved in his life by owning up to them. He's honest and he expects the same of others.

Essentially this is the greatest friend anyone could have.

With that said, he does have flaws. After all there is no one out there who is perfect. Because he lives life to the extremes he can be difficult to keep up with. To put it simply he can be largely overwhelming even if he is endearing for it. People will find they don't know how to deal with him. Perhaps more so because he's so overly straight forward about everything. He literally has nothing to hide and will not hesitate to share his opinion and will not sugar coat a truth. This can be quite jarring when the world can tend to be used to people who are willing to at least keep something to themselves.

Along with this you will find there are few out there as stubborn as he is. Stubborn and willful. He does what he pleases when he pleases and will keep barreling forward into it if you tell him to stop. On the flip side he will also refuse to budge on something if he doesn't feel like going out and doing it. He cannot easily be told what to do through orders unless he has already extended that permission towards you. Even then he is still only likely to fully do as he's told when someone he respects is the one to make the request. This can make him challenging since you will want him to do one thing and he just...might not. Or might not until he's ready. This was something Waver faced often with him.

Another thing that can be off putting is just his utter lack of shame. He never gets embarrassed by anything he does or says. Even when he makes mistakes he owns up to them. This can be seen as a positive and in a way it is. However, it can be quite the shock to the system to have him suddenly do something like open the door butt naked simply because he needed to open the door and didn't see why he'd need to cover himself up. Basically he's more likely to end up being an embarrassment for others long before he's ever an embarrassment to himself.

So yes, he's a great friend. But he can also be so exasperating.

POWERS/ABILITIES: Before discussing his Noble Phantasms, one should look over the fact that he is a Rider Class Servant. A servant is a being who is a Heroic Spirit called to Earth through magical means as a spiritual familiar. The essence of their power is this spiritual body and when it is damaged they are destroyed. This can be accomplished by great damage using Noble Phantasms. However, this ability requires a gathering of energy over time to use it properly. So he will not be able to use it right away and will need time during battle before he can use it. With that said, because he is considered one of the strongest moon summoned Servants, he does not appear to require a Master to function. Also, when summoned, a Servant will be gifted with some knowledge of the era they are summoned into so they can adapt to it easily. With that said, concepts can be new and shocking to a Servant such as how vast the world is and so on.

Servants are also gifted with great amounts of speed and strength. Naturally some are stronger or weaker than other Servants but it is clear that Iskandar happens to be one of the powerful ones. Not only can he lift a person up with one hand and hold that perso there like they weigh nothing but he's able to handle two powerful bulls when he rides his chariot. Not to mention being able to punch right through a wine barrel like it's nothing at all in order to open it up. (Demonstrated in Fate/Zero but would still apply to this version of Iskandar.) Now, he is faster than a human but he also doesn't tend to rely on that. In fact, most of his speed comes from his use of his chariot or his horse rather than himself.

A Rider Class specifically focuses on attacks that revolve around their ability to ride as well as being known for having a very high resistance to magical spells used on them (in Iskandar's case, he can resist most but he is susceptible to very powerful spells.) This class can call upon their mounts at any time and can adapt to riding modern technology too depending on how strong they are. In Iskandar's case, he likely would have been strong enough but chose not to since he had a chariot and a horse that could travel faster than most vehicles and could even fly through their air when he desired.

This brings me to his Noble Phantasms, of which he has two. The first of these is (note that this is deemed a minor one that he can use without constant gathering of energy) Gordius Wheel which calls upon a large chariot pulled by oxen and surrounded by lightening. It can be used on the streets but can also be used to fly through the air as well. To summon this, he slashes his sword to cut open a path for them to join him. This chariot can move faster than a car on a paved road based on what was seen in canon since Saber had to modify her motorcycle on the spot just to catch up to him. (Again, something demonstrated in Fate/Zero but would still apply to this ability in Extella.)

His second Noble Phantasm is Ionioi Hetairoi which is essentially a reality marble that he can pull aspects from or bring others two. A reality marble is essentially someone's inner world brought into this one without actually impacting the real world. What is unique about his is that it's massive. It covers a vast desert and has an entire army within, all the men who once followed at his side, who died for him, who lived for him. Riding on his horse, Bucephalus, he leads them into battle to destroy the enemy he brings in. For in his reality marble, every single one of those men is also a Heroic Spirit ready to fight. From this he can bring out a couple of men or just his horse to go around the world.

INVENTORY: Sword, Summons: horse, two bulls, chariot (these are all directly tied to his Noble Phantasms as listed above)
